It's a great little camera.

Not only is it cheaper...well, let's see: the media is cheaper (it records simultaneously to a tape and basic, easy to find Sandisc card); 1/3" bayonet mount interchangeable lens; a 1.5 lux rating; and many more!

It looks wonderful. It's easy to use and the media is much cheaper than many other choices.

Because Sony is pushing their EX XDCAM line, they aren't advertising this camera. But, in several ways, it's better than the EX line.
